Meet the Team
Who We Are
Development Edge is a youth-led nonprofit organization with headquarter in Enugu State, Nigeria. We are founded in 2020, registered in 2025 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as Initiative of Emerging Leaders and Skills Development, but known as Development Edge. We are committed to serving underserved and vulnerable communities expanding access to education, livelihood opportunities, climate action, WASH, and democracy and good governance as part of the ongoing effort to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our mission
To empower vulnerable communities, including children, women, and youth by expanding access to quality education, nurturing leadership, and strengthening pathways to dignified livelihoods. Through research, advocacy, skills development, and community-driven initiatives, we work to break barriers, foster equal opportunities, and inspire active participation that leads to prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable communities across Africa.

The Values That Shape Every Decision
Why Youth and Children?
Africa is the youngest and fastest-growing continent in the world. By 2030, an estimated 375 million young people will be entering the job market across the continent. Within a few decades, Africa’s workforce will surpass one billion, becoming the largest in the world. This demographic trend presents a powerful opportunity, but also a pressing challenge: how do we ensure that Africa’s youth are not only counted, but equipped, included, and empowered?
At Development Edge, we believe that children soon grow to become youths, and young people are not just beneficiaries of development but active drivers of change. In a continent where poverty, unemployment, inequality, and governance gaps remain pressing issues, the creativity, energy, innovation, and resilience of young people are invaluable assets. But too often, youth are sidelined in decision-making, lack access to quality education, face barriers to livelihood, and carry the burden of mental health challenges in silence.
We choose to work with the youth because the future of Africa hinges on their present realities. Investing in young people today means building more inclusive, prosperous, and stable societies tomorrow. Our work is driven by the understanding that sustainable development is impossible without preparing this generation with the tools, skills, opportunities, voice and agency they need to thrive and lead.
